EA Prerequisite 2:
Minimum Energy Performance Requirement:
Reduce the connected lighting power density 10% below that allowed in the ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007
EA Credit 1.1:
Optimize Energy Performance – Lighting Power (1-5 Points)
Reduce connected lighting power density below that allowed by ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007

Solution:
Furniture mounted task lighting that includes a control device (e.g. switch) either integrated into the fixture or a nearby wall should typically be included in the baseline lighting power allowance (LPA) calculation. By connecting this type of task lighting to a plug load control device offering automatic shutoff, you can exclude it from the LPA calculation for the proposed building thereby improving building performance.
Isolé and DLM occupancy-based controls providing automatic shutoff can help improve building performance.
