Course Descriptions and Schedule

103W - LEED-NC v.2.2 and Lighting Controls
This applications-based webinar teaches where lighting controls fit within the context of LEED-NC v.2.2 and how lighting control systems are used to meet the LEED Minimum Energy Performance Prerequisite. The presentation will discuss ways to achieve higher levels of LEED certification, using lighting control and building integration design strategies, in the Optimizing Energy Performance credit and Controllability of Systems credit. There will also be information about lighting control design strategies to consider for the Innovation in Design credit. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

203W - Energy Code Compliant Lighting Controls: IECC 2003, 2004 Supplement, and 2006
This webinar provides a comprehensive overview of the IECC code requirements for lighting controls. Participants will learn the difference between the various versions, learn how these requirements impact building design decisions, and be able to immediately apply lighting control knowledge to the design, review, and inspection of code-compliant projects. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

204W – Energy Codes – ASHRAE 90.1 2001 and 2004
This webinar provides a comprehensive overview of the ASHRAE 90.1-2001 and 2004 energy code requirements for lighting controls. Participants will learn the differences between the various versions, how these requirements impact building design decisions, and be able to immediately apply lighting controls knowledge to the design, review, and inspection of code-compliant projects. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

301W – Daylight Responsive Lighting Controls
The “Daylight Responsive Lighting Controls” webinar will include an overview of architectural daylighting strategies and control technologies, and will discuss how they influence daylight penetration and occupant comfort in buildings. Participants will learn how to design daylight-responsive lighting control systems, commission these systems, and circuit electric lighting systems that work with daylit buildings. The presentation will also provide ways to integrate these three components in order to optimize occupant comfort and energy benefits. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

401W – Energy Efficiency and Emergency Lighting
Emergency lighting is driven by requirements in several different codes: NEC, NFPA 101, and various other building codes. This webinar provides a review of these codes, as well as a discussion of the different devices and methods used to control branch level emergency lighting. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

501W – Energy Policy Act (EPAct) 2005
This webinar provides an in-depth overview of the EPAct 2005 commercial building tax deduction provisions and the regulations associated with it. Attendees will learn how these provisions provide tax incentives for the use of energy efficient lighting systems and controls. By attending this webinar, you will learn how EPAct requirements impact building design decisions; where the synergies lie between EPAct tax incentives and other building design systems, such as LEED; and be able to immediately apply lighting control knowledge to the design of EPAct-eligible projects. Offering 1.5 LEUs and 1.5 LUs to participants.

All sessions run from 8:30am - 10:00am PST including Q&A
